You know how when you take a fresh load of laundry out of the dryer you can feel the heat radiating off of it? What if I told you that kind of radiance was in the bible? Well kind of…
“Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy..” Isaiah 60:5a
Isn’t that just something you long for? To be radiant and to be overfilled with love and joy! A definition of radiance is “filled with light; bright” don’t you just long to be filled with light? Now let me explain.
Acts 5:12-16 talks about the apostles and how they “performed many signs and wonders”. One apostle in particular is Peter. People in Jerusalem and other towns began to bring the sick to the edge of the streets and lay them on Mats. They had one hope, that Peter’s shadow would fall upon them as he passed and they would be healed. Peter didn’t need to say anything! Just his shadow could heal the sick. He is so filled with the Holy Spirit that his shadow became radiant. Radiant enough to heal the sick! “And all of them were healed.” Acts 5:16b Not just some of them were healed, but ALL OF THEM! Isn’t that amazing! What radiance!
Acts 19:11-12 shares how God did great things through Paul. Earlier on in the chapter, Paul is talking with some disciples about receiving the Holy Spirit when they began to believe. They replied only the baptism of John. Paul places his hands upon them and the Holy Spirit came on them! Isn’t that just amazing! Back to verses 11 and 12, the Bible says that aprons and handkerchiefs That Paul had touched were taken to the sick and they were healed. Paul only had to touch an apron to heal someone’s sickness. Isn’t that radiance? The radiance of The Holy Spirit was so high in Paul that all he had to do was touch an apron to heal someone. He could touch someone and the Holy Spirit could come on them! Isn’t that amazing?!
Back to my question: don’t you long to be radiant? I long for people to look at me and my smile and see the radiance of God within me. Sure I might not be able to heal someone by my touch (of coarse I could if God used me in that way) but that doesn’t mean that others won’t notice. Let God come into your life and help you be radiant. “You will look and be radiant” you will receive happiness and joy that nothing else can bring you. Let your life shine and be radiant!

O yes how I desire for others to see Jesus radiating out of me. Kinda like when Moses came down off the mountain and his face shined!

I cant believe I forgot that one! I guess there are just so many examples of radiance in the Bible that we cannot keep track! Exodus 34:29-35
